Christians Who Love an Addict (formerly called Loved Ones of Addicts) is a Christian ministry based in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. It serves anyone who struggles with a loved one’s addiction.

The ministry was founded in 2019 by Jon Sorenson, a Minnesota native, who spent 18 years in the throes of codependency as the father of an alcoholic son.

Jon’s ministry provides a public Facebook page, a private Facebook group, a recently published book—Stop Prolonging Your Loved One’s Addiction: How Your ‘Helping’ May Actually Be Hurting, and guest speaking opportunities for Twin Cities area church recovery groups and ministries.

Jon’s background includes:

  • Director of Communications at Grace Church, Eden Prairie, MN for 15 years

  • Launched and led a Celebrate Recovery ministry for three years

  • Guest speaker on codependency at numerous churches in the Twin Cities

  • Support group facilitator for loved ones of addicts
